🀝 TEAM BUILDING

Purpose: Strengthen your Team Culture
Updated 1 month ago

Team Building can be almost any activity as long as it requires the team to do something together

It could be solving a task, doing sports activities, or simply going out to be social at a restaurant or bar. It might seem inefficient to some, but it's imperative not to underestimate the power of a team with a strong social bond. People who have a strong connection have better collaboration in projects as well.

Team Building is all about creating healthier and stronger relationships!

You can have different team-building activities based on what you want to achieve in the team, or you might simply do them to have fun!

Here are some examples to inspire your team-building activities.

Communication skills
Creativity
Problem-Solving
Trust/Bonding

Communication skills πŸ’¬

  • Scavenger hunt
Divide into smaller teams and give them a map of things they need to find.
  • Blind retrieval
One person is blindfolded but can move around. The other team members cannot move but have to guide the blindfolded person to retrieve a specific object.
  • Active listener
Tell a story, and add random unrelated words to it. The team that finds the most words wins.
  • Perfect Square
Divide into smaller teams, and give each team a rope. While blindfolded, ask them to make a perfect square with the rope.
  • Office trivia
Divide into smaller teams and have a trivia night.
  • Channel your Inner artist.
Each team assigns an artist. The other team members draw a card that has a random object, like a chair or an apple. The team members must tell the artist what to draw without revealing what the object is.

Creativity 🎨

  • Paper tower
Each team gets a sheet of paper and 5 minutes to construct the tallest freestanding structure.
  • Finish the drawing
Give each team member a piece of paper that already has one curved line drawn on it. Ask them to finish the drawing. Have them present their drawing.
  • Sketch your neighbor
Give the team members paper, and ask them to draw their neighbor to the left, and then present their drawings.
  • Make your own sandwich
Ask each team member to draw a sandwich that represents their personality, and have them present it to the team.
  • Collaborative sketching
Present a central topic, a question, or a problem to the team. Give everyone a paper they divide into two or three sections and draw different ideas. Rotate the papers, so everyone builds further on each other's drawings.

Problem-solving❓

  • Solve a murder mystery
Create a murder mystery where your team members work together to solve it.
  • Marshmallow spaghetti tower
Divide into smaller teams and ask them to create the tallest structure possible from marshmallows and spaghetti.
  • Escape room
A fun activity that increases teamwork and problem-solving.
  • Lost at sea
Divide into smaller teams and tell them that they are lost at sea. Give them a list of items that might help them survive. The goal is for the team to agree on which items are most important for survival.

Trust/Bonding 🀝

  • Potluck
Everyone brings a dish, and your team shares a meal and each other's company for a couple of hours.
  • Appreciation circle
Go in a circle where you have to mention positive things or compliments about your neighbor.
  • Campfire Stories
Sit in a circle, and share stories about various work experiences. You can have prompts on a wall or in a bag that can help people get started. Like "First day at work" or "funny incident".
  • Memory Wall
Ask your team members to write down and then draw a positive memory of shared experiences or moments in the team. Hang the memories up on a wall and ask each team member to share the memory they drew.
  • Odd couples
Write down known partner combinations like peanut butter and jelly on separate papers. Stick each paper on a team member's back and tell them they must find their partner. They can only walk around and ask each other yes or no questions.
